Submissions are now open for the 16th Annual New Hampshire Literary Awards, presented by the New Hampshire Writers’ Project (NHWP). These biennial awards recognize outstanding published works by or about New Hampshire in the categories of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s picture books, and middle grade/young adult books.
“The New Hampshire Literary Awards celebrate the depth and diversity of our literary community,” said Claudia Decker, Literary Awards Committee Chairperson. “We are proud to highlight the work of talented authors who capture the essence of New Hampshire’s culture, history, and storytelling traditions.”
Books must have been first published between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024, to be eligible. Nominations are open to authors, publishers, and the general public, and self-nominations are encouraged. A panel of independent judges will evaluate submissions, with finalists announced in fall 2025. In addition to the judged awards, the People’s Choice Awards will allow readers to vote online for their favorite books in each category.
