Woman's $4K Diamond Ring Stolen on Lois Street

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, Jan. 13 and Tuesday, Jan. 14.

Monday:

  • At 8:48 a.m., police reported a minor motor vehicle accident without injury on Lafayette Road.
  • At 10:32 a.m., police reported a theft on Lois Street after the caller said $200 in cash was stolen from their checkbook.
Tuesday:
  • At 5:32 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice and was being held on another offense at the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood. Jeffrey Howard, 61, address unknown, was wanted for two counts of criminal mischief (vandalism) and reckless conduct; placing another in danger.
  • At 8:18 a.m., police reported a theft of pills on Lafayette Road.
  • At 12:37 p.m., police reported criminal threatening at a store on Woodbury Avenue after a store employee said a customer came in and threatened to assault them.
  • At 6:01 p.m., police reported a theft on Lois Street after the caller said someone took her diamond ring that is valued at $4,000.
  • At 8:53 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic disturbance on Ledgewood Drive. Dustin J. Wivell, 38, of 110 Ledgewood Drive, Apt. 4, was charged with stalking and violating a protective order.
