Being called a "New Hampshire treasure," Portsmouth's Strawbery Banke Museum was recently awarded $218,220 in federal funding.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Being called a "New Hampshire treasure" by U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth has been awarded $218,220 in federal funding. The grant will go toward new strategies and programs for visitors to the historic Captain Walsh House, located on the museum's campus.
"Strawbery Banke is a New Hampshire treasure that provides visitors to Portsmouth a glimpse into the city's rich and vibrant past and the earliest foundations of our state," said Shaheen.
The grant was awarded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, an independent federal agency that helps support museums and libraries.
