Campbell's Scottish Highlands Golf Course at 79 Brady Ave. in Salem held its 15th Annual Turkey Day on Monday, Nov. 4.

It was a clear crisp fall day with sunny skies and slight breeze. Golfers golfed for free by donating a frozen turkey of 12 or more pounds or a local supermarket gift certificate of $20 or more.

The donations were given to the Food Pantry at the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church in Salem. A total of 88 turkeys and $335 in gift certificates were collected for the Feed the Hungry Program at the church.

Course owner Marilyn Campbell said in addition to this year's donations the golf course has collected 1,431 turkeys — over 20,894 thousand pounds worth — and $4,133 in gift certificates over the past 14 years during this popular annual event.
