5 Things To Know In Salem This Week: Last School Day, Pool Open
Last day of school and the opening of newly expanded water park are among things to know about this week in Salem.
SALEM, NH — Summer is approaching, and many fun activities are worth taking a part in this week, especially with vacation kicking off. Here are the top five things to know in the Salem this week.
- Summer vacation is almost here. The last day of school at the Salem School District is this Friday.
- The Boys and Girls Club pool opens this Saturday, with a free community pool party starting at 9 a.m. Swim lesson placements will also take place.
- Those who haven't been to Canobie Lake Park lately might want to check out its newly expanded Castaway Island water park. It will be open daily from this Saturday through Labor Day. New this year is the tidal river, river slides, "Lil Squirts" play pad, private cabanas, a "monkey bar" and more.
- A "local concerns meeting" pertaining to the Bike-Ped Corridor improvement project is scheduled for this Thursday, at 7 p.m. at the Salem Town Hall. CMA Engineers will present information and design alternatives to the public and take any questions or concerns. The project area spans Route 28 from Rockingham Park Boulevard to Cluff Crossing Road. Abutters and all members of the public are welcome.
- This Thursday is the last day to register for the Recreation Department's new program, Beginner Yoga For Adults. Starting this week, the class will be held every Thursday until July 25.
