Bail Set for Man Charged in Death of Salem Grad
Donna Bergeron was struck by a vehicle just minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve.

The Union Leader reported this week that a Massachusetts man was arraigned from his hospital bed in connection with the death of a Salem High School graduate and former resident on New Year's Eve.
Mikhael Sarkis, 50, of Lawrence, is being charged with vehicular homicide, two counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Donna Bergeron, 41, of East Hampstead, was killed in the crash just minutes before midnight. It took place in Salisbury, Mass.

According to the paper, Sarkis is due at Newburyport District Court on Jan. 30.
According to her obituary published today on Salem Patch, Bergeron was a bartender at Atkinson Country Club and graduated from Castle Junior College.
