Canobie Lake Park Reviewing Security After Marathon Bombing

The park will open this Friday.

The Union Leader reported on Sunday that Canobie Lake Park is reviewing its security measures prior to Friday's season opening.

According to Chris Nicoli, director of marketing at the park, a drop in attendance is not anticipated, although he told the paper the possibility is being looked at.

The Canobie Lake Park website currently has a message at the top of the page acknowledging the attacks last week with the words "Boston Strong," followed by the message "our hearts are with the victims, their families and the entire community of Boston.

The park is currently hiring a security captain. One of the primary roles of the position is to conducts periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.​

 Representatives from Canobie Lake Park appeared in Windham on Thursday to accept the 2013 large business pillar award from the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce.
