This week in Salem promises to be pretty interesting with plenty of activity at the town offices and also just across the border in Massachusetts. Here's a quick look at what is happening around town:

Gamma Medica, a medical device firm that recently held its grand opening on Friday with Gov. Maggie Hassan, will hire as many as 30 new workers between now and the end of the year. The company makes digital imaging technology to help radiologists detect breast cancer inside of thick tissue.
On Thursday, the town will auction off the former Mary Foss School to the highest bidder. Qualifying bids of $150,000 were accepted until the end of last week and town officials hope the buyer will use the building and property to create new businesses on Route 28.
The Salem School Board will also hold a planning session at the Salem High TV studios on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and the massive Salem High renovation project will undoubtedly be one of the items that will be discussed.
The Board of Selectmen also announced earlier last week that trick or treating will be held on Oct. 31, Halloween, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and it will be here before you know it.
