Chris Christie to Campaign for Walt Havenstein

Chris Christie, chairman of the RGA, will join the Republican gubernatorial candidate June 20, his campaign announced.

Gubernatorial candidate Walt Havenstein said Wednesday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the chairman of the Republican Governors' Association, would join him at campaign stops in New Hampshire later in June.

"I'm excited that Governor Christie is coming to the Granite State to support my campaign," Havenstein said in a statement. "This is a sign that momentum is building and we are on our way to winning the Governor's Office in New Hampshire."

"Across the country it is Republican Governors who are leading America's Comeback. In the 29 States led by Republican Governors, we see economic growth and job creation. States led by Democrats are more inclined to raise taxes and grow government. We need a Republican Governor in New Hampshire more than ever."

The campaign stops will include retail and grassroots events in the Manchester area as well as a fund-raiser June 20 in Atkinson.

Havenstein and Andrew Hemingway are running for the GOP nomination for governor.
