Police Follow Copper Trail to Local Man, Accomplice

Two men were charged with numerous crimes, including burglary and prowling.

An investigation into a November burglary on Hawthorn Road in Windham has led to two men being charged in the theft of copper from the home.

According to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, 34-year-old Windham resident Roger Markievit and 25-year-old Jeffrey Savard of Kingston have been booked for the crime.

Each man is being charged with burglary, prowling, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools, according to the newspaper.

Markievitz, who is being held on $10,000, is slated for a probable cause hearing on Dec. 18.

Savard, who is being held on $5,000 bail, was scheduled for his first court appearance Wednesday.
