Police blocked the road and secured the parking lot with crime scene tape. Sandals were on the ground near a vehicle in the middle of a parking lot, with the driver’s side door. It is unclear if this was related to the victim who was transported from the scene.
Detectives were seen interviewing several people in the parking lot. At one point, Derry firefighters responded, providing blankets and gloves to several of the people who appeared to have left the buildings and were not allowed to return while the investigation was ongoing.
Several area police departments issued a be on the lookout (BOLO) for a U-Haul occupied by four people, possibly with a license plate from Arizona.
As a precaution, the Hood Middle School, immediately adjacent to the scene at Peabody Road Annex, and Pinkerton Academy were placed in secure campus mode.
