Elderly Salem Man Indicted on Child Sex Abuse Charges
Ronald Libby allegedly committed sexual acts against children his wife babysat in their home.
An elderly Salem man was indicted this month on charges that he committed sexual acts against children his wife babysat in their home.
Ronald Libby, 72, of Salem was indicted by a Rockingham County Superior Court grand jury on one count of felonious sexual assault and one count of attempted felonious sexual assault. According to the indictments, between June and August of 1991, Libby knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl. And between June of 1991 and September of 1995, he attempted to engage in sexual contact with another young girl under the age of 6.
Libby was originally arrested by Salem Police on Aug. 22, 2013. At the time police said there might have been multiple victims. The victims were believed to have been children Libby's wife babysat for.
