Five Things: Epic Clash for SHS Hockey This Weekend

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: While the temperatures will rise a bit today with a high of 29, expect partly cloudy skies to turn into possible snow showers tonight with a low of 16.

2. BLUE DEVILS HOCKEY TO BATTLE FOR TOP SPOT: A clash with the Manchester Memorial High Crusaders is coming up this Saturday for the Salem High Blue Devils, and that means a battle between no. 1 vs. no. 2 in Division I.

Salem heads into the tilt with an 8-1-1 record while Manchester Memorial is 8-1-0

Head on out to the Icenter at 6 p.m. for the game.

3. MOVIE NIGHT FOR HAIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: From Haigh School:

The student council invites Haigh School students to a Movie Night featuring Madagascar 3:  Europe's Most Wanted! Due to space availability, we are asking that this event be limited to only current Haigh students.  We will have popcorn, juice and water. Students are allowed to wear pajamas and bring blankets, sleeping bags or towels to sit on. Students may be dropped off at 6:00 p.m. and parents may pick up at 7:45 p.m.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1776, the Continental Congress authorizes the first national Revolutionary War memorial in honor of Brigadier General Richard Montgomery, who had been killed during an assault on Quebec on December 31, 1775.
