Five Things: Public Hearing on School Renovations

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Today will be a little cooler in Salem compared to yesterday's warm weather. Expect a high of 39 and partly cloudy skies and some snow showers later this evening with a low of 28.
2. SCHOOL RENOVATIONS HEARING: From the Salem School Board: A public hearing will be held in the TV Studio at Salem High School on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. to consider the incurring of indebtedness for the purpose of construction and original equipping of additions and renovations to the Fisk and Soule Elementary Schools, and modest renovations to Haigh School in an approximate total of $16,205,153.
The public hearing also will consider the incurring of indebtedness for the purpose of further modest renovations to Haigh School in an approximate total of $805,237.
3. BUDGET COMMITTEE TO MEET: The committee will once again discuss town warrant articles during a meeting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

5. BOYS/GIRLS BASKETBALL IN ACTION: The Blue Devils' basketball teams will be in action tonight. The boys will head to Nashua South at 7 p.m. The girls will stay home for Nashua South.
