Grant Scam Targeting NH College Students

A group calling itself the U.S. Federal Grants Administration is trying to defraud college students

College students with "603" area code cellphones are beginning to receive calls from a group claiming to be offering college grants of up to $8,000, according to a number of reports.

The company, which identifies itself as the "U.S. Federal Grants Administration," requests "an application fee" to be sent via Western Union. Reports indicate the calls are a scam, and officials are urging locals to remember that if an offer is too good to be true, it probably is.
