Greater Salem Caregivers Honor Volunteer Of The Year 2025
The org held its volunteer luncheon in Windham last month. It helps senior citizens and homebound adults maintain their independence.

SALEM, NH — April was National Volunteer Month, and Greater Salem Caregivers (GSC) made sure to let its volunteers know just how special they are during its recent Volunteer Appreciation Lunch at the Black Water Grill in Windham.
More than 60 people, including GSC volunteers, staff, board members, and community partners, attended the event.
GSC helps senior citizens and homebound adults in Salem and Pelham maintain their independence and dignity by providing rides to medical and other appointments, grocery shopping, or paying them a friendly visit.

“Volunteers are a lifeline for our clients, and they make a huge difference in their lives,” said GSC Executive Director Connie Young. “We are delighted to honor them during National Volunteer Month, and we are extremely grateful to them all year for donating their time to help our seniors and homebound adults.”
During the event, Jean Spring was named Volunteer of the Year. For more than 18 years, Jean has helped seniors get to their medical and other necessary appointments, and the clients she drives consistently rave about her, saying how comfortable they are with her.
