Hedgehog Pond Bacteria Advisory Remains Active

Tests will take place once again today.

A fecal bacteria advisory at Hedgehog Pond continues to be active over one week after the water was first sampled.

Tests will take place once again today with results expected to come out tomorrow.

The advisory will remain until bacteria counts are below the state standard.

A yellow NHDES sign has been placed at the beach to indicate that the advisory has been issued and that the water is not suitable for wading or swimming.

The sign also notes that water exposure may cause nausea, vomiting, fever or diarrhea.
