Romney to Endorse Scott Brown

Romney will officially endorse Brown at Doug and Stella Scamman's Bittersweet Farm in Stratham on July 2.

Former Repubican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will endorse Scott Brown for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire on July 2.

Romney will officially endorse Brown in what the campaign is calling an "Independence Day Kick-off" at Doug and Stella Scamman's Bittersweet Farm in Stratham.

Romney and Brown have worked together for years, going back to their days on Beacon Hill, when Romney was governor and Brown a state senator.

In an email blast to supporters, Brown says America would be in "much better shape if Governor Romney were in the White House today. Governor Romney was right about so many things, whether the subject is the still-sputtering economy, an aggressive Russia moving to expand its sphere of influence, or the vacuum left in Iraq by the failure to leave behind a residual force to secure our hard-fought gains."

Brown goes on to called President Obama's leadership as "indecisive and feckless," and he mentions incumbent U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) for supporting the president's policies in the Senate.

The state primary is Sept. 9. Brown is one of 10 candidates on the Republican ballot, but faces the most opposition from former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith and former state Sen. Jim Rubens.
