Monday Essentials: Community Give Back Nights at Ruby Tuesday

2. COMMUNITY GIVE BACK NIGHT: Starting Wednesday and running until Friday, 20 percent of your check at Ruby Tuesday will go to the Salem Animal Rescue League. Be sure to head on over to the Mall at Rockingham Park and give back to a great community organization.

3. SCHOOL BOARD MEETS THIS WEEK: The board will discuss renovation updates during their Tuesday meeting this week, which will be held at 7 p.m. in the Salem High School television studio.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1779, a Patriot force consisting of 300 men led by Major Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee assaults the defensive positions of the British at Paulus Hook, New Jersey, now known as Jersey City. Lee wins one of only eight medals awarded by Congress during the war–and the only one awarded to a soldier beneath the rank of general–for his role in this action.
