Obituary: Margaret C. (Cargill) Turner
Originally from Scotland, Turner was the owner of Maggie May's Pub in Salem and Wishes, a gift shop in Andover, Mass. She died on Nov. 8.

Margaret C. (Cargill) Turner 59, of Salem passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2021. She was born in Arbroath, Scotland, on July 7, 1962, a daughter of the late David and Isabella (Chalmers) Cargill. Margaret and her family moved to Andover, Massachusetts, in 1968 where they resided for many years.
Margaret was a graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical School. She went on to receive her degree in Early Childhood Development from Northern Essex Community College. She then furthered her education by studying American Sign Language.
Margaret had many passions throughout her life, from educating, entrepreneurship, and bartending at T-Bones for many years. A genuinely self-made woman, Maggie was owner of the gift shop Wishes in Andover, Massachusetts, and later became the proud owner of Maggie May’s Pub in Salem.

Margaret loved her dogs, the beach, crafting, but most importantly, being Nana to the love of her life, Emma Lucy. She lived life to the fullest, never missed a beat, and was always over dressed for any occasion.
Margaret was predeceased by her siblings David, Linda, and Robert Cargill. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Megan (Turner) Needham and her husband Jason Needham, and their daughter Emma Needham of Salem, longtime partner Mark Michelle of Salem, friend of a lifetime Kelly Warren of Salem, and many friends and family.

Margaret will be laid to rest in her hometown of Arbroath, Scotland.
