Police Announce Sobriety Checkpoint Coming to Salem
The checkpoint will take place this weekend.

The New Hampshire State Police and Salem Police Department will coordinate on a sobriety checkpoint this weekend in Salem.
According to state police, the checkpoint is authorized by the Rockingham County Superior Court. It will be conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.
"The New Hampshire State Police and Salem Police Department consider the identification and apprehension of impaired drivers and enforcement of the Driving While Intoxicated statuses to be a top priority," state police said in a release. "Sobriety checkpoints are one of the best methods of deterring the impaired driver.
Police didn't issue the location in Salem that the checkpoints will take place.
