Rockingham Mall Shoplifter Indicted on Several Theft Charges

Man tried to steal several pairs of blue jeans and T-shirts from several stores at the Mall at Rockingham Park in April.

A man who tried to steal blue jeans and several other items from stores at the Mall at Rockingham Park in April has been indicted on several theft charges by a Rockingham County Grand Jury.

Thet Naung, 33, who is being held at the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, was indicted for seven counts of theft by unauthorized taking, according to court documents.

Court documents allege that on April 24 Naung tried to steal $1,500 worth of blue jeans from Macy's by placing them in a bag and then rushing out of the store. Naung also allegedly stole some blue jeans from the Sears store and tried to steal blue jeans and t-shirts from Lord and Taylor's.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but just means a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial in superior court.
