Massachusetts Man's Leg Severed In I-93 Accident In Salem
A man severed his leg in a vehicle accident on I-93 in Salem on Thursday.
SALEM, NH — A man suffered significant injuries Thursday after a vehicle went through a guardrail and severed his limb. Jorge Ramirez, 22, of Chelsea, Massachusetts, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Boston hospital late Thursday morning.
State Police say that Jose Laguer, 24, of Boston, was driving a Nissan Sentra around 11:20 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. According to the Union Leader, the vehicle crashed into a guardrail and a passenger in the vehicle suffered multiple injuries including a severed leg.
Ramirea was flown by helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston for his injuries and is currently in stable condition, police say. Laguer was transported by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital for minor injuries, according to State Police.
