Salem 1st-Grader Participates In Girl Scouts Fashion Show

BEDFORD, NH — A Salem first grader got to play a prominent role at a Girl Scouts fashion show earlier this month, Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains announced.
Sehanya Ranasingha, 6, was one of several scouts and adult volunteers who modeled the latest Girl Scout clothing line during the show at Girl Expo, which took place in Bedford on Oct. 16.
"The fashion show was so much fun and it was awesome to walk on the stage. I felt so proud of myself," Ranasingha said about the experience.

Ranasingha is a Daisy in Girl Scout Troop 61510, which meets in Windham. She also participates in the Girl Scout council's G-Team, a program that encourages Girl Scouts to be knowledgeable about the media and helps promote Girl Scouting.
According to WMUR, in addition to the fashion show, Girl Expo featured a planetarium show, archery, rock climbing walls and a giant whale.

The purpose of the expo, which was held at the New Hampshire Sportsplex, was to offer girls and their families an opportunity to explore the outdoors and learn life skills.
