Salem Fire, Police Partner With Nonprofit Isaiah 58 NH For Coat Drive
The departments both have drop boxes and are collecting gently used coats, snow suits and snow pants until Dec. 18.
SALEM, NH — The Salem Fire Department and Salem Police Department have announced they have partnered with a nonprofit to help those in need stay warm this winter.
The departments are working with Hampstead-based Isaiah 58 New Hampshire on a winter coat drive, and the public is being asked to donate gently used coats, snow suits and snow pants until Dec. 18.
Drop boxes are located at the Salem Fire Department, 152 Main St., and the Salem Police Department, 9 Veteran's Memorial Parkway.

According to its website, Isaiah 58 NH provides the opportunity for individuals and families to experience formative change.
"It is the mission of Isaiah 58 to help those in need and provide food, clothing and shelter for the homeless and housing insecure. You can help us in keeping families warm this winter," Isaiah 58 NH said in a statement.

Officials from the fire department and police department and representatives from Isaiah 58 NH will ensure that the donated winter items get to those who need them the most, the nonprofit said in a statement about the coat drive.
The coat drive drop boxes at the fire department and police department are located alongside drop boxes for Toys for Tots. Both departments recently announced that they are collecting toys through Dec. 15.
