Salem Fugitive Arrested In MA During Investigation Of Break-In

Adam Howe was wanted in Salem for allegedly receiving stolen property. He faces multiple charges in MA, including breaking and entering.

TEWKSBURY, MA —A man with a warrant for his arrest in Salem, New Hampshire was arrested Thursday in Tewksbury, Massachusetts by authorities investigating him for another crime, the Tewksbury Police Department said.

Adam Howe, 34, of Truro, Massachusetts, was a suspect in a break-in, and Tewksbury police said he was arrested after they learned he was wanted in Salem, New Hampshire for allegedly receiving stolen property.

Howe has been charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime, a felony, fugitive from justice (warrant), and possession of a class B drug, police said. He was due to be arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court, authorities said.

According to police reports, at about 7 a.m., Tewksbury officers responded to the report of a break-in at an Old Main Street business.

At the scene, an employee said they had been the first to arrive at the business, where they encountered the suspect inside the building. The suspect left the building immediately, the employee said.

Police said they were able to identify the suspect as Howe, and they later located the suspect on Main Street. The TPD said officers arrested Howe after learning he was being sought on a warrant from Salem, New Hampshire.

During a search, Tewksbury officers discovered that the suspect was in possession of Suboxone, a Class B substance, without a prescription, according to the department.
