Salem Lawyer Turns EP on Groundbreaking Movie
The first-ever film shot entirely using Google Glass will have a familiar name and locale at the forefront of its unique love story.
Attorney Mark Stevens doesn't typically have a chance to explore the complexities of love in court, although the prominent Salem DWI lawyer will soon have a chance to do so in a very different line of work.
Stevens, who practices criminal defense in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, is one of the executive producers of the in-production film "Glass: A Love Story."
What makes the Michael Durwin movie unique is that it's the first ever to be entirely filmed using Google Glass. The film, set in Boston, centers around an awkward lonely heart who finds love thanks to the help of a new gadget, and Stevens said it was too exciting and intriguing of an idea on which to pass.
"It's a really cool idea," said Stevens. "It's going to be a really dynamite [film]."
"Glass: A Love Story" is currently in production and is slated for release later this year.
Durwin, who has created similar short films and has made one using only iPhones, was one of the select few to receive a beta version of Google Glass for use in the movie, which has a reported budget of $3,700.
The summary for the movie is as follows, as posted by Durwin on the imdb.com page for "Glass: A Love Story":
Glass: A Love Story is about Chris. He has trouble with women, he's not exactly a great catch; he's socially awkward, he can't dress himself, he's a geek, he's not tall, very dark, or very handsome. When his friends and family begin to pressure him to find a girlfriend fast, he is assisted by an unlikely source, his new augmented technology; Google Glass.
