Salem Police Investigate Stabbing at Rockingham Mall

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in an altercation involving 10 people near the Rockingham Mall in Salem early Friday.

SALEM, NH —Police say they are investigating a stabbing that took place early Friday morning in the parking lot of the Mall and Rockingham Park in Salem. The stabbing was reported around 2:55 a.m. When police arrived, they found about 10 people who appeared to have been involved in a violent altercation, Salem police say. Two men, ages 39 and 30, suffered stab injuries, according to police.

The altercation took place at the carnival set-up in the corner parking lot of the mall, police have reported. The 39-year-old man also had injuries that are believed to have been inflicted by a baseball bat, according to police. Both men were transported to area hospitals by ambulance due to their injuries.

Police say they found one knife on scene and they continue to actively investigate the incident. Anyone with further information is encouraged to call the Salem Police Department at 603-893-1911.
