Salem Police Log: Trash Truck Takes Out Utility Pole
A trash truck striking utility pole, robbery, shoplifting arrests and more were reported in Salem police logs for Aug. 26 to Sept. 1.
SALEM, NH — The following items were selected from the Salem police log for the time period of Monday, Aug. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 1. Arrests do not indicate guilt. The names of any minors have been omitted.
Monday, Aug. 26
After a vehicle accident on North Broadway Street, 36-year-old Kelly Elizabeth Smith, of Sanford, Maine, was charged with driving after revocation or suspension and driving under the influence (DUI), and was arrested on a warrant from an outside agency.
After a shoplifting report at Target, Laura K. Medeiros, 29, of Laconia, was charged with willful concealment and making a false report to law enforcement, and Phillip M. Stebbins, 29, of Laconia, was charged with robbery and willful concealment, and charged in connection with theft detection device remover.

Tina A. Paradis, 44, of Salem, was charged with domestic simple assault.
Tuesday, Aug. 27
Dillinger Contreras, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was charged with organized retail crime enterprise and driving without a valid license. Robert M. Feugill, 40, of Salem, was charged with harassment. A woman was taken to Holy Family Hospital after being struck by a vehicle in a Cross Street parking lot.

Wednesday, Aug. 28
Near McDonald's, an employee reported that a customer was trying to sell an Xbox and was punched in the face by a person trying to buy it. As a result, police arrest 18-year-old Tyler R. Cahill, of Sandown, on two counts of robbery, and 19-year-old Domenic Vitello, of Sandown, was charged with second-degree assault and robbery.
A trash truck struck a utility pole on Pacheco Drive, causing the pole to be completely out of the ground and laying on top of the truck. The driver remained in the vehicle for some time, due to down wires. The area is shut down to traffic as fire officials arrive to take care of the wires.
Thursday, Aug. 29
Salem police logs for this day were not immediately available.
Friday, Aug. 30
Indecent exposure was reported at Greystone Farms on Main Street. Several used needles were found on South Broadway Street, in the area of Town Fair Tire. A child bumped his or her head after a two-vehicle accident near Pelham Road and Commercial Drive. At Lowe's, a man in his 40s reportedly tries to steal a $450 item but then dropped it and fled in a dark green Ford Escape.
Saturday, Aug. 31
Elias G. Daaboul, 52, of Salem, was charged with violation of a protective order. Kevin Charles Crawford, 57, of Salem, was arrested on a warrant from another agency. Also, the Fire Department transported a woman to Holy Family Hospital after a suspected overdose. And a tractor trailer reportedly struck a utility pole near McDonald's.
Sunday, Sept. 1
Timothy John Sullivan, 61, of Salem, was charged with domestic simple assault. Also, verbal fights were reported at Jocelyn's and at Canobie Lake Park.
