Salem Scramble Scheduled For Sept. 24 At Salem High School

The event features obstacle course races for the kids, who will get to jump over hay bales, climb walls and scramble through mud pits.

SALEM, NH —Registration remains open for the 6th annual Salem Scramble, a community celebration featuring obstacle courses for kids, local vendors, games and activities presented by the Salem School District (SAU57).

Registration is available online. But organizers said race space is limited and only a select number of spaces are available in defined time slots.

The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Salem High School, located at 44 Geremonty Dr. Registration costs $20, a fee that includes access to the race, a free t-shirt and a free swag bag with goodies donated by community organizations.

Organizers said they are expecting to attract nearly 450 racers and that online registration closes at midnight on Sept. 18.

The event will feature two obstacle courses, with a total of 25 obstacles. Participants will get to jump hay bales, climb walls and scramble through mud pits.

A number of community businesses and organizations also will be at the event, offering information, giveaways, activities and food for racers and their families.

Organizers said they are looking for volunteers to help make the event a safe and fun experience for the participants. Interested volunteers can sign up online.

The event will be held rain or shine, according to organizers.
