Salem's Seifert Center Hosting The Phil And 'The Nutcracker'

The Phil presents "Nature and Myth" in Oct. and "Holiday Pops" in Dec. The New England Dance Ensemble's "The Nutcracker" is in Nov.

SALEM, NH — Tickets are still available for upcoming concerts by the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra in Salem this fall and winter.

At 2 p.m. on Oct. 16 and 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22. at the Seifert Performing Arts Center, located at Salem High School, 44 Geremonty Drive, The Phil will present "Nature and Myth." Tickets are available online.

The program will feature "Egmont Overture" by Ludwig van Beethoven, "Lyrics for Strings" by George Walker, "Peer Gynt Suite #1" by Edvard Grieg and "Symphony #1" by Jean Sibelius.

At 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 18, The Phil will present "Holiday Pops," a popular and classical holiday favorite. Tickets are available online, but The Phil urges prospective concertgoers to purchase their tickets early because full houses are the norm.

"Our audience's favorite concert of the year," The New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra said in a statement. "There's something for everyone, from Christmas carol sing-alongs to classical and popular holiday favorites, to a visit from a special visitor from the North Pole!"

Seifert Performing Arts Center also will welcome the New England Dance Ensemble's "The Nutcracker," which will take place on Nov. 26 and 27 at 4 pm. Tickets go on sale Monday.

The performance will feature the New Hampshire Philharmonic along with guest artists from the Philadelphia Ballet and the Nashville Ballet.
