Some Salem Stores Won't Sell Controversial Rolling Stone Issue

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is the cover photo for the next issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, angering many.

Several businesses with stores in Salem are saying they won't sell the controversial Rolling Stone magazine cover featuring a photo of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Among the businesses boycotting the issue are Kmart, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid, all of which have locations on portions of Broadway. Tedeschi Foods, which has a location on Main Street in Salem, and Shaw's, with a location on Cluff Crossing Road, are also not selling the issue. Roche Bros. doesn't have Salem locations but they have also banned the issue.

Not everyone is refusing to sell the magazine, however. 7-Eleven, which has a store on Cluff Crossing Road in Salem, said it will carry the issue, which hits shelves Friday.
