Trio of Shoplifters Found with Heroin, Needles and Stolen Electronics

Two Massachusetts residents and another from New Hampshire were arrested Wednesday.

A trio of alleged shoplifters were arrested Wednesday after being caught with heroin and stolen electronics after they fled the scene.

Richard Ball, 23, of Kingston, N.H. was arrested for theft – shoplifting and resisting arrest. Nicholas Messina, 21, of Haverhill, Mass. was charged with willful concealment. Yris Fraden, 24, of Bradford, Mass. was charged with possession of a controlled drug (Heroin), resisting arrest, driving after revocation and accomplice to theft.

Police responded to Home Depot for a report of several shoplifters running from the store. Police were advised en route that one male was running through the adjacent plaza while another was fleeing in a silver-colored Audi.

Officers were able to locate the first male and take him into custody inside McDonald's restaurant.

A Salem officer later located the suspect vehicle in the area of 310 Main St., where two occupants were inside.

The driver and passenger were taken into custody for a variety of charges. Police recovered stolen electronic data boards with a total value of $400 from both male suspects. A small amount of Heroin  and numerous used hypodermic needles were also found.

Ball refused bail and was transported to jail, while Messina's bail was set at $600 and Fraden's bail was set at $1,000. Both suspects were also transported to jail.
