According to court documents, the two men allegedly burglarized a home on Zion Hill Road, taking a credit card that belonged to a resident of the house.

Documents further indicate that Norris used the card at a Hess gas station and Lord & Taylor. He later attempted to use the card again at Macy's.

Other reported residential burglaries took place around the same time within eight days of each other. In October, Salem Deputy Chief Shawn Patten issued a statement:

"Over the past eight days Salem has had at least five reported residential burglaries all over town including Zion Hill Road, Sylvan Drive, Hazelwood, and Elizabeth Lane areas," he said.
