Update to Come Later this Month on Assistant Town Manager Position

Windham Patch spoke with Board of Selectmen Chairman Everett McBride, Jr.

The Board of Selectmen held a goal-setting session this week, but a discussion of a possible assistant town manager position in Salem did not come up in the meeting, according to Chairman Everett McBride, Jr.

McBride said that he expects further discussions on the matter to next come up during the board's May 20 meeting. He didn't say if any talks will take place during the next Board of Selectmen meeting on May 13.

The possibility of an assistant town manager was first raised on Monday as the town is trying to find a solution following the announced departure of Community Development Director William Scott, who to head to Amesbury, Mass.
