SALEM, NH - Salem Police continue to investigate a stabbing that occurred at the Mall At Rockingham Park Thursday that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Salem Police and Fire responded to the report of a 20-year-old Windam man with a stab wound at the mall near the food court entrance. Officers provided medical aid to the man, including placing a chest seal over the wound in his torso. The victim was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and, due to the severity of the injury, was flown to a Boston area hospital with what police describe as life-threatening injuries.

Police established a crime scene, processed it, and interviewed multiple witnesses. Radio traffic indicated they issued a BOLO (be-on-the-lookout) call for a dark-colored Kia with a New Hampshire vanity plate.

A man suffering from what police say was a knife wound to his arm arrived at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester and was identified as one of the people involved in the Salem incident.

Salem detectives executed a search warrant for this investigation at a home in Londonderry overnight. The vehicle seen fleeing the scene at the mall parking lot was recovered overnight and abandoned in Salem. Detectives are working on executing multiple search warrants related to this incident.

Sources indicate that police have detained at least one individual, and the investigation continues.

All parties involved in this incident are believed to have been identified, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Both the Manchester and Londonderry Police Departments have assisted in this investigation.
