Woburn, MA, Man Hurt In Salem Rollover Crash On I-93
A man from Woburn, Massachusetts was injured in a rollover accident on I-93 near Exit 2 in Salem on Thursday.
SALEM, NH — A Massachusetts man was injured Thursday in a rollover vehicle accident on Interstate 93 in Salem, near Exit 2. Police say that around 4:30 p.m., Michael Desmond, 51, of Woburn, Massachusetts, lost control of his vehicle while going north on I-93, striking two vehicles. After the impact, the Infiniti M45 he was driving rolled over into the southbound side of the highway.
The other drivers were not injured in the accident, State Police say. Desmond was transported to the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts, to receive further medical help. Police at this time are uncertain what made him lose control of the vehicle.
The right lane in both the southbound and northbound portions of I-93 were closed to traffic for about 40 minutes, as officials worked to clear the area of the accident. Salem Fire and EMS officials assisted the State Police.
