A Fee By Any Other Name
5 Things you should know today: There's talk of resurrecting the effort for a casino to help pay, in part, the widening of I-93. (Plus four more things.)

1) In case you missed it: The Windham Planning Board will have a workshop tonight, July 31, on impact fees. A study and review for the town by BCM Planning LLC on the public safety impact fees concluded that they were "not sustainable." Impact fees, in Windham or in any of New Hampshire's 234 municipalities, always seem to generate a good discussion.
2) Casino Plans Rise Like the Phoenix? The architects of the legislation for a casino in southern New Hampshire are talking about re-introducing a bill for expanded gambling as one way to raise money for New Hampshire's roads and bridges (and, of course, finishing that I-93 widening).
3) Postcard day ahead (pssst, so get your camera ready). The National Weather Service forecast calls for a mostly sunny day with high temperatures in the mid-80s.
4) Anyone else intrigued by this Whitey Bulger trial? It's a media circus, true, but the defense team's got to have something up its sleeve, right? The question remains: Will James J. Bulger take the stand to testify?
5) Where's Hoffa? On this day in 1975, James R. Hoffa disappeared and was never seen again, according to History.com.
