AG Will Not File Charges Against McLeod

A release was sent out today.

The New Hampshire Attorney General announced today that charges will not be brought against Windham Selectman Ross McLeod following a lengthy investigation into allegations of illegal gambling, electioneering and tampering with witnesses and informants.

The N.H. Department of Justice recently completed the investigation according to Attorney General Michael A. Delaney.

The decision came after a review of the evidence collected over the course of the investigation.

McLeod, who formerly served as a Hillsborough County prosecutor, has been under investigation for months after a Right to Know request made on his work account saw back and forth messages sent to former friends regarding a fantasy football league.

The investigation stemmed from those emails, which also included correspondences with residents in Windham regarding town elections.

A witness tampering probe surfaced in July after the lead AG investigator found evidence in McLeod's emails that he allegedly told several members of the league to not speak with any investigators.

Rusty Chadwick, who serves as McLeod's attorney, countered that witnesses in the McLeod investigation were fully aware and cooperative with the AG office.
