Bass, Rausch Pump Up GOP Supporters at Rally

The two helped introduce GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan on Saturday.

Before GOP vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan took to the stage at Pinkerton Academy in Derry on Saturday, it was a wave of prominent New Hampshire Republicans who introduced him.

The show started with state Sen. Jim Rausch, R-Derry, who jokingly almost called Ryan the next president, a reference to a verbal mistake made by Mitt Romney when he first announced that Ryan would join him on the ticket.

As the laughter from the crowd broke, Rausch struck a serious tone.

"That will not come to fruition unless each and every one of us continues to work to convince the voters of New Hampshire that our candidate, Mitt Romney, is the best choice to be our next president," Rausch said.

Also energizing the crowd was U.S. Rep Charles Bass, NH-2, who took his shots at Obama long before Ryan had the chance.

"Do we want four more years of 8-and-a-half percent unemployment, do we want to see unemployment rise in New Hampshire like it did in the last month," Bass asked to a loud 'no' from the crowd.

Also speaking was U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta, NH-1, who spoke highly of Ryan's work as his colleague in Congress before plugging the conservative ticket.

"If you want an opportunity in this country to be successful, to be anything that you want to be, there's a very, very good choice," Guinta said. It's electing Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan president and vice president of the United States of America.
