Drinking Now Allowed Throughout Bowling Lanes in Windham

Selectmen have approved the expansion of a liquor license at Park Place Lanes, allowing visitors to now have alcohol on the lanes while bowling.

Prior to the expansion, residents were only allowed to drink in the adjacent Jonathan's Lounge or Alley Kat Grille.

Windham Police Chief Gerald Lewis said that the expansion is commonplace in New Hampshire.

"I did contact the state liquor commission and they indicated that most alleys in the state have that expansion permit into their lanes," he said.

Lewis added that most of the management within those facilities are able to handle the situation pretty well.

Selectmen approved the request with zero objections.

Lewis said he will deliver the approved license expansion to representatives at the lanes today.
