2. FACILITY INFO SESSION AT NESMITH: The Windham Initiative for a New School (WINS) is hosting an information session on Saturday with School Board Chairman Bruce Anderson. The presentation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Nesmith Library. Learn more here.
3. TAX ABATEMENT WORKSHOP POSTPONED: A workshop scheduled for Feb. 5 has been postponed. No new date has been set.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: U.S. President Harry S. Truman publicly announces his decision to support the development of the hydrogen bomb, a weapon theorized to be hundreds of times more powerful than the atomic bombs dropped on Japan during World War II.
5. CHINESE HACKERS TARGET NYT: The New York Times reported on Thursday that the paper has been persistently attacked by Chinese hackers in the last four months. The hackers have infiltrated the paper's computer systems, getting passwords of reporters and other employees. Learn more here.
