Five Things: Turbine Dedication Ceremony Tomorrow

1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Rain is in the forecast all day with a high of 64 during the day and an overnight low of 59.

2. OPEN HOUSE AT BLACK MOOSE: An open house will take place at the Black Moose Country Store from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The store will offer 10 percent off your entire purchase all weekend.

3. DEDICATION CEREMONY: A dedication ceremony for the wind turbine/solar panels at Windham High School will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The event is rain or shine. If it rains, it will take place inside the school.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1985, the first Blockbuster video-rental store opens, in Dallas, Texas. At a time when most video stores were small-scale operations featuring a limited selection of titles, Blockbuster opened with some 8,000 tapes displayed on shelves around the store and a computerized check-out process. The first store was a success and Blockbuster expanded rapidly, eventually becoming one of the world’s largest providers of in-home movies and game entertainment.
