
1. Hassan in the House! The New Hampshire Executive Council will hold its bi-monthly meeting at Windham High School today. Gov. Maggie Hassan will be in attendance. The gathering – the latest in a series of traveling meetings being held around the state – takes place at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the WHS auditorium. The meeting, the first to be held in a public school, is open to all residents who wish to attend.
2. Get your beard on! Want to see the red-hot Boston Red Sox play a game in person, but can't swing the full cost of a ticket as the playoffs near? Get those hair follicles working overtime today and Wednesday and you could score a seat for just $1 for Wednesday's tilt against the Baltimore Orioles, according to NESN.
The good news, though, is that the beards don't even have to be real. NESN has reported that any fan who arrives at Fenway Park with a beard, real or fake, will receive one $1 ticket as a part of "Dollar Beard Night." More information about the ticket promotion is available here.
3. Looking Senatorial? Former State Sen. Jim Rubens, who led the charge against casino gaming in New Hampshire, is expected to be the first to announce a run for U.S. Senate. He'll likely face a handful a handful of other Republicans for the chance to challenge incumbent Jeanne Shaheen in 2014. Rubens has a press conference scheduled Wednesday morning in Concord.
4. The weatherman says ... Last night felt more like winter was coming than a beautiful 74-degree and sunny day. But that's what Mother Nature seems to have in store for us today. Tonight, temperatures will dip to about 46 degrees. Chilly, but still about 10 degrees warmer than Tuesday overnight.
