Jim Foley to Launch Senate Run

The race for an open New Hampshire Senate seat heats up.

Republican Jim Foley will launch his campaign for state Senate District 19 on May 27.

The kick-off party is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Halligan Tavern in Derry.

"I am honored by the support and encouragement I have received during the exploratory stage. My grassroots campaigning, willingness to listen and my message of low taxes, less spending and more personal freedom is resonating with activists and voters. The excitement is definitely building," Foley said in a statement.

The host committee includes Sen. Jim Rausch, who is not running for re-election in 2014, former Sen. Bob Letourneau, Bruce Breton, Jodi Nelson, Jim and Patty MacEachern, Art McLane, Rep. Phyllis Katsakiores, Chris Wolfe, Rep. Brian Chirichiello, Rep. Bev Ferrante, Rep. David Milz, Rep. John O'Connor, Rep.  Bob and Rosemary Fesh, Pat Dowling, Brad Benson, Bud Evans, Jim Webb and Pam Rodgers.

District 19 represents Derry, Hampstead and Windham.
