NBA Player Surprises Windham Teen During Performance

Knicks guard J.R. Smith came onto the court while Emma Joanis was singing Katy Perry's "Roar" at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Last week, we told you how 14-year-old Windham High freshman Emma Joanis was set to sing at halftime of the Jan. 26 New York Knicks-Los Angeles Lakers game at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Well, she did just that, performing Katy Perry's hit "Roar" before thousands of Big Apple hoop fans. She also got a bit of a surprise when Knicks guard J.R. Smith suddenly came out onto the court about halfway through her performance and put his arm around her. He stuck around for the rest of the song before giving Emma a hug when she was done singing.

Check out a YouTube clip of Emma's performance above.
