Lions Club Raffling Windham-Themed Stain Glass Panel

The organization is selling tickets for the chance to win the unique piece of art.

Windham residents have a chance to win a very unique piece of art that incorporates important aspects of their town.

The Windham Lions Club is raffling a stain glass panel called "The Essence of Windham," which features images of seven locations in the community.

Those include Searles Castle, Griffin Park, Windham High School, Apple Acres, Town Hall, Cobbett's Pond and the B&M Caboose. Seals for Windham Fire, Windham Police and the Lions Club are also included.

The work of art, valued at $895, is a custom design donated by Freeda Ostis of Ostis Inspirations.

"I've been doing stain glass for about 30 years but this past year I learned how to etch photographs into glass," Ostis told the Windham Board of Selectmen on Feb. 4. "It's all the little things in between that make it special. After learning how to do this I decided I wanted to do a panel of Windham.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will help fund eyeglasses for those in need.

Tickets are $5 for one or $20 for five.
