GOP Carries Windham

Check back as soon as the polls close tonight to see who won local and statewide races.

UPDATE (12:37 a.m.) WMUR reports that Jim Rausch has retained the District 19 state senate seat, beating out challenger Chris Reisdorf. Results in Derry and Hampstead, the other two towns included in the district, were as follows

UPDATE (10:42 p.m.) On a record-setting election day in Windham, 734 new voters registered. A total voters was 8,337 ballots were cast, which amounts to a turnout of 81.8 percent.

UPDATE (3:26 p.m.): No hitches with Voter ID so far in Windham as over 50 percent of registered voters in town have cast their ballots. Biggest crowd came this morning when the doors opened, with lines out the door and a packed parking lot. Things died down a bit around lunchtime.

Voters go to the polls today to decide several contested races. There's the presidential race, of course, but also races for governor, Congress, Executive Council, state representative, state senate and numerous Rockingham County seats.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Windham High School gymnasium, located on London Bridge Road. As soon as the polls close tonight and the results are tallied, we'll have the Windham results posted right here.
