NH's Five Best Scenic Leaf Peeping Drives

State officials anticipate an increase of $1 billion in fall tourism spending this year.

New Hampshire is expecting a strong year for fall tourism, according to the Associated Press.

An improving economy and low gas prices could mean a record fall, the state Division of Travel and Tourism told the AP. About 7.8 million visitors are expected by the end of November, which would be 2 percent higher than the fall of 2012. And with that increased number of travelers comes more spending. State officials are expecting to see a 3 percent bump in spending, which will amount to about $1 billion additional dollars.
