Night Lane Closure on I-93 South

Detours will be in place on the nights of Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, weather permitting.

Submitted by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation:

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces night work associated with the construction of the Exit 2 Interstate 93 bridges in Salem. Operations to place bridge girders will take place on the nights of Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14, weather permitting.

Construction operations will require traffic on Interstate 93 southbound to be reduced to one lane utilizing a lane closure, from approximately 8:00 pm to 5:00 am. Detours will also be in place during these times along NH Route 97/Pelham Road to prevent traffic from traveling under the existing bridges while the new beams are erected. The detour route for NH 97/Pelham Road will be South Policy Road to Lowell Road to Stiles Road.

Message boards and detour signing will be in place to assist motorists through the detour. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the I-93 widening and reconstruction project in the vicinity of Exit 2. The general contractor for the $41 million project is George R. Cairns & Sons, Inc., of Windham, New Hampshire.
